How We Work
This site is designed for current and future Ad Astra Traffic team members. If you’re interested in our products and services, please visit AdAstraTraffic.com
.This page should give you a good idea of our basic operating procedure, the expectations you should have after becoming a team member and the expectations we have of team members. Those with experience in online freelancing should readily recognize our procedures as fairly “standard”. If you have any questions regarding our policies, feel free to contact us via email at admin.adastratraffic[at]gmail[dot]com.
Process Overview
When a client needs work, we contact individual team members regarding their interest and availability for that specific project. We negotiate terms with that person including specific project specifications, deadlines and payment arrangements. After a team member accepts his or her first job via Ad Astra Traffic, he or she is issued a username and password for our project management site. We handle the bulk of project-related communication via the project management site.
Team Member Expectations
Team members can expect Ad Astra Traffic to provide the information and specifications they’ll need to produce high-quality, original materials within the stated deadlines. Team members can also expect Ad Astra Traffic to meet all agreed upon payment terms. If you’re working with Ad Astra, you can count on professional interactions, honesty and a positive online working “environment”.
What about Fun?
While we’re very serious about providing quality service and deliverables for our clients, we want working with Ad Astra Traffic to be an enjoyable experience. We want to work with friendly people who like a good joke and who don’t mind a little non-corporate informality. We try to be supportive, flexible and good-natured. We believe we can redefine one-stop service shopping for online businesses without becoming one of the “bad guys”.
What about Money?
We negotiate rates and terms with our clients. We negotiate rates with team members based upon what clients are paying. That means that payment terms can vary considerably based on the task at hand. Ad Astra Traffic is a for-profit enterprise. As such, team members do not receive the whole of the client’s payment for the work. The portion that doesn’t go directly to team members is used to cover marketing expenses, paying project managers, covering overhead, maintaining “safety net” procedures for “projects gone bad”, owner income and other expenses. We strive to provide team members with the best possible payment rates and terms for booked projects. Those who work with us generally receive the lion’s share of the revenue collected from the client. Ad Astra Traffic’s owners have years of experience as service providers and are dedicated to treating team members the right way. If you’re concerned about receiving offers that won’t meet your payment requirements, please indicate your preferred rates when you contact us to join the team.
Ad Astra’s Expectations
We expect team members to complete all work on-time and to specification. All “creative” work (writing, graphics, video, etc.) must be original and wholly consistent with all copyright laws. Failure to deliver by deadline may result in payment reduction or elimination. We test all receivables for originality via manual and software-driven means. Failure to deliver material consistent with our stringent originality guidelines will result in zero payment, elimination of access to Ad Astra Traffic and any/all other legally appropriate forms of response. In other words, we expect our team members to deliver high-quality, original work–on-time.
What about Taxes?
We’re not in the habit of providing tax advice. It’s our belief, however, that you’re responsible for providing the authorities with accurate income information. If we’re paying you, it’s probably your job to report the income. All team members are independent contractors. We are not hiring you as an employee of Ad Astra Traffic. We report all income and expenses–including payments made to team members–to applicable state and federal agencies when we do our taxes.
Ad Astra Traffic may need your Social Security Number or Tax ID Number to issue appropriate paperwork and to operate in accordance with tax laws and regulations. We’re in the process of determining exact requirements, standards and procedures with respect to our legal obligations. We’ll announce any formal changes to our policy here and via this site’s blog. In the meantime, please understand that accepting Ad Astra Traffic work may obligate you to provide additional information necessary for us to comply with the law.
Other Important Facts about Being a Team Member (the Fine Print)
All of our independent contractor team members need to know that: (1) Unless otherwise negotiated, Ad Astra Traffic acquires all rights to materials produced. Team members do not maintain a copyright claim or ownership rights to material. This is work-for-hire and the payment terms upon which we agree include remuneration for rights. (2) We intend to make all payments via PayPal. In the event that we experience difficulties with PayPal or PayPal becomes inoperable, we will make an effort to pay via check (sent by certified mail, Federal Express or another “trackable” means as quickly as possible. In the unlikely event this should happen, payment could be delayed by as much as a week. (3) Team members are strictly prohibited from directly approaching Ad Astra Traffic clients. Client poaching is not permissible. (4) Team members are asked not to disclose payment levels or terms in a way that reveals how much they were making for a particular project. (5) Team members are not to publicly reveal the specific nature of projects upon which they worked or to provide information that makes discovery of those projects possible by others. (6) We’ll pursue any/all appropriate legal measures in response to activities we believe to be in violation of these guidelines.
